Sponsor a Project
and Transform Lives

Access to energy has profound impacts on health, safety, education and economic development.

At Empowered by Light (EBL), we use renewable energy to empower underserved communities around the world. We achieve this by donating clean energy technologies and facilitating the recruitment of local people and organizations to design, install, operate and maintain the systems which make their communities more independent, resilient and sustainable. Our approach improves lives and the environment, encourages local development, and serves as a catalyst for the adoption or expansion of renewable energy in the regions we serve.

To date, EBL has completed more than 120 solar and energy storage projects in 10 countries.

We maintain a list of highly-impactful projects, but here’s a sampling of options available for corporate sponsorship.

Please email info@empoweredbylight.org if you’re interesting in transforming lives by supporting one of these projects or would like to discuss other options.

Ludaka village, Zambia

A borehole and solar-powered water pumping, storage and irrigation system would help alleviarte poverty and address food security for the more than 430 community members in Ludaka. The community currently grows vegetables, including rape, beans, okra, tomatoes, onions, and maize, but is struggling due to a lack of water for irrigation. A fence would also be needed to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

Cost: $22,000

Kasempa Village, Zambia

For the more than 100 households in Kasumpa, a borehole and solar-powered water pump would reduce illnesses from drinking contaminated river water—the community’s current water source. Kasempa is an extremely poor and remote community that has been severely impacted by Africa’s prolonged drought.

Cost: $15,000
